Anusara
Yoga Weekend Workshop: The Expansion Of The Heart
Welcome Friends. Come deepen your understanding of how to refine your practice with the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment. Universal Principles are nature's way of creating and organizing the physical world. The Infinite Intelligence has organized itself through us, as us, according to the Tantras. Learn how these principles, when applied to the practice of asana, can heal old injuries, prevent new ones, optimize energy flow and lead us to an expansion of awareness. Anusara, in sanskrit, means to align with the Divine. One way, to align with the Divine, is to ride the pulsation, or Spanda, inherent in all phenomena in nature, back to our own Hearts. Learn how you can do this in a seemingly simple and playful physical practice.

Open to Something Bigger!
Aligning our intention with the intention of our true Essence is at the heart of the Anusara practice. We call it Opening to Grace. This remembrance creates a practice that will leave you feeling aligned with your own Heart. From there, yoga becomes a celebration of life, rather than an escape from the trap of the world.

Pulsation: Nature's Creative, Organizing Principle
In Sanskrit, Spanda means infinitesimal stirring or pulsation. In every shimmering particle of Consciousness we see as the physical world, there is an underlying pulsation at the most subtle level. Our own bodies pulse: the heart beats, the breath rises and falls, muscles expand and contract. We'll deepen our alignment with the Heart by tapping into this creative and healing principle of nature in our very own bodies.

From One, Many: The 5 Elements At Play In The Body

Returning To The Source: Introspection, Integration and Assimilation
In this session, we pulse inward again. Postures will be more introspective and quiet. The focus will be on hip-openers, twists and forward bends. We'll also have time to meditate and assimilate our practice and let the new insights gained from our physical practice lead us into the heart of meditation.
